Monkton Barn is a family-run wedding venue located in Marlow, Buckinghamshire. The venue has a rich history dating back to the 16th century when it was originally a farm. The barn, which is the focal point of the venue, was built in the 18th century and was used to store grain and hay. In the 19th century, the barn was converted into a stable and was used to house horses.
During World War II, the barn was used as a military hospital and was later converted into a dance hall. In the 1960s, the barn was used as a storage space for a local furniture business. In 2003, Peter and Wendy Aldiss, a multigenerational Marlow family, purchased Monkton Barn and began the process of converting it into a wedding venue.
Today, Monkton Barn is a beautiful and unique wedding venue that combines the traditional with the modern.
